Nicholas obtained his Bachelor of Psychological Sciences at James Cook University, where he published his first paper as the principal investigator pioneering teacher bullying research in Singapore fully funded by the university.
Professional Appointments
Nicholas Seet Wei Kiat was previously a Research Associate leading a research team for an interdisciplinary project examining the impact of communication media on negotiation outcomes at SMU Yong Pung How School of Law. During his stint, he was also the co-investigator leading a qualitative inquiry for the main project funded by a Ministry of Education (MOE) research grant. His current doctoral research examines mother tongue as a second language anxiety among primary school students in Singapore. Utilizing his expertise in the social sciences and applied research methodology, he contributes valuable insights to interdisciplinary law-related projects.
Research Areas
Nicholas' research greatly revolves around exploring and examining youth issues in Singapore. He is interested in uncovering youth hidden issues and is committed to improving the lives of youths and their advocacy through his research. His research interest is largely driven by first hand interactions with youths in Singapore during his stints leading research teams across multiple large scale educational research projects in Singapore throughout his career. He is currently expanding into research law with the Centre for Digital Law (CDL).
