At the Roundtable Discussion on Singapore’s Online Safety (Relief and Accountability) (OSRA) Bill, hosted by SMUCDL and TikTok Singapore this week, we were privileged to hear from academic leaders and representatives from academia, government, policy, and civil society on the evolving regulatory landscape surrounding online safety.

With the aim of fostering constructive dialogue on emerging digital governance challenges, participants engaged in substantive discussions on:

• The legal and policy considerations surrounding the proposed OSRA Bill

• Platform accountability and regulatory approaches to online harms

• Youth protection and proposals relating to teen social media bans

• Balancing online safety with innovation and digital participation

The roundtable provided a valuable forum for interdisciplinary perspectives on how regulatory frameworks can strengthen protections in the digital environment while supporting a dynamic and responsible digital ecosystem.

We are grateful to TikTok and all participants for their thoughtful contributions and insights, which made for a rich and engaging discussion.
