The Guest Lecture “Competition Policy as a Driver of Economic Integration – An EU Perspective” was held at SMU Yong Pung How School of Law, hosted by Professor Pasha L. The session opened with welcome remarks by Mr Philipp Dupuis (Head of the Economic and Trade Section, European Union Delegation to Singapore) and opening remarks by Prof Pasha L. Hsieh. During the lecture, Ms Bernaerts examined how competition policy enhances market efficiency, fosters innovation, and ensures fair business practices, highlighting its role in strengthening the EU’s internal market and preparing its economy for global challenges. The lecture concluded with an engaging exchange of views during the Q&A moderated by Assistant Professor Nydia Remolina (Deputy Director, SMU Centre for Commercial Law in Asia), and closing remarks delivered by Associate Professor Han-Wei Liu (Deputy Director, Centre for Digital Law).
