We were pleased to host an insightful seminar on "Digital Dispute Resolution Platforms: The Impact of New Technologies on the Future of International Commercial Arbitration", featuring Dr Joseph Lee Nazzini (Research Director for Digital Technology, Crime and the Law, Centre for Digital Trust and Society, The University of Manchester), Lee Hwai Bin (Executive Director, Christopher Chuah Law Chambers LLC) and Guangmian Kung (Integrations Manager, Kleros), and was chaired by Han-Wei Liu (Associate Professor, YPHSL; Deputy Director, CDL).
The speakers shared thought-provoking insights from their diverse jurisdictions and expertise. As digital platforms continue to provide dispute resolution services in the e-commerce domain, emerging technologies such as blockchain and AI are reshaping the landscape and introducing new models for international commercial arbitration. The seminar explored the legitimacy and legality of these platforms, and their potential implications for the future of dispute resolution.
We thank all speakers and attendees for the engaging presentations and lively Q&A, which sparked meaningful discussions on the evolving digital economy and arbitration practices.
